Impressive guard of honor for retiring colleagues
On Thursday, May 30, MPET, in keeping with tradition, bid farewell to all colleagues who retired over the past year. It was once again an unforgettable tribute.
When you retire at the port, it does not go unnoticed. An impressive guard of honor was formed for the retirees by dozens of straddle carriers, lined up in a row spanning several hundred meters. The deafening honking of the straddle carriers created a truly goosebump-inducing moment, demonstrating the great respect for the departing colleagues.
Three shifts, three celebrations
Throughout the day, celebrations took place during the three different shifts, allowing all colleagues the opportunity to say goodbye. Each shift began with a reception and a photo session, followed by the impressive guard of honor.
After this emotional moment, the retirees and their (former) colleagues enjoyed snacks from the food trucks. Each retiree also received a small token of appreciation as a memento of their time at MPET.
This year, we said goodbye to no fewer than 39 colleagues. We want to thank them once again for their incredible dedication over the years and wish all the retirees a wonderful and well-deserved time.
Curious to see how a retirement celebration like this unfolds and what a straddle carrier guard of honour looks like?
